Native Plants in the Yard
Native plants have a bad reputation and it deters people from adding them to their yard because they become "weedy" or "wild". People who want to start adding native plants to their yard but don't know where to find reliable information. CW Native Plant farm is committed to providing information on native plant material for New York, generally, and western New York, specifically. On the farm we have over 500 native species planted for you to observe and educational resources to help you choose the right plants for your yard.

Landscape Planning and Restoration
Every yard has its own challenges - invasive species, heavy clay soils, shade, seasonal flooding or too sunny and dry. No yard is perfect. Native species are ideally suited to help you any of these issues.
All plants look good in the nursery but may not be right for you. If you are unsure of which plants be best in your yard take a tour of the farm where the Great Lakes ecosystem is being restored.
Gardens and Nursery
The farm has demonstration gardens. Examples of native trees, bushes and plants are found throughout the property. The nursery stock includes many of these species found on the property and are for sale during your visit.
Restoration and Education
Want to know what, if any, native plants are already your property? Schedule a site visit to evaluate your yard in terms of native plants and invasive species. Educational programs will be offered throughout the summer.
